M and A Wedding Cake!!!

This cake turned out so well and fitted in perfectly with the beach theme of the wedding. Fortunately a good friend of mine, sister of the groom and very talented professional photographer took these pics for me! (thanks Hannah)

Front Door Upgrade

Here's the front entrance as it was when we moved in.  

Here's the after- I think it made a huge difference just by adding an extra panel above and boxing it out with some decorative cornice.

I'd love to live in an old house one day with 12 inch baseboards and heavy wooden trim details.

2008 year in review Album

This was the first time I'd used an old book to create an scrapbook album for my family back in England. I took these pics fully intending to make a copy for myself but it never happened. It's still on my to-do list- in fact I'd really like to do this every year but the thought of catching up on previous years gets more daunting as the years seem to fly past!

Inspiring Cake Designers

These ladies really take cake decoration to the next level.

 Peggy Porschen from London produces the most beautiful cakes with such perfection. Her mini cakes (not cupcakes) are so sweet! 

     

Sylvia Wienstock is the American Celebs cake designer! Her cakes are so extravagant, crammed full of intricate flowers. Absolutely stunning! She's 81 and still decorating cakes.

 

Tracey James of Cotton and Crumbs UK Her style is pretty, romantic with a vintage influence.

Going Green.

Woven grasses created the 3 taller flowers that stand at the back. I tried to use similar colors and just focus on the textures.
